The staff of Morton Township Library offers exciting programs for our youngest library users.  From tots to teens we promote the joy of reading and a love of the library. 



For children who have completed kindergarten - 6th grade.

Imagine, Create, Participate!  Be creative at the Morton Township Library this summer and explore the fascinating world of music, art, dance, books and more!  Earn book bucks for time spent reading and redeem them at the library's Book Buck Store after each Wednesday session.  Please register at the circulation desk or call the library at 972-8315.

MUSICAL MAGIC & JUGGLING SHOW

Set the stage for a summer of excitement with Ben Spitzer's hilarious magic and juggling routines.  Watch Ben attempt to play his harmonica while juggling and spinning plates on sticks!  This fun and hilarious show will have you sitting on the edge of your seat!

Art, Games, Food, and Fun @ Your Library

All kindergarteners through sixth graders are invited to step into the spotlight at their library for an afternoon of creative fun.  Enjoy games, art projects, snacks and more.

DRUMMUNITY!  Rythmic Fun for Everyone!

Come catch the beat at your library!  Drummunity is a unique, high-energy, and hands-on interactive program that encourages everyone to participate.  Using hand drums, percussion, and simple drum circle games, Lori Fithian creates a positive and exciting experience for all ages.

Mecosta's 4th of July Parade

Come be a reading star by riding on the "Be Creative @ Your Library" Float.  Line up will begin at 10:15 on South Franklin Street (one block west of Mecosta Elementary). The parade will end near Graphic Specialties on the east end of town.

CIRQUE AMONGUS: Discover the Big Top Within

Spend an afternoon at the big top as you watch an amazing circus show full of comedy, circus arts and exciting audience participation.  Guaranteed to captivate the entire audience!

GRATITUDE STEEL BAND

Join in the fun as an introduction to the music and culture of the steel drums will send you on a musical adventure that will let you experience foreign countries, history, and more.

VENTRILOQUIST VIKKI GASKO

Children and adults will love this fun-filled variety show with Vikki's cast of characters.  You'll enter into a hilarious, musical world of family fun entertainment.  Vikki uses her award winning ventriloquism with laughter, silliness and joy along with magic and audience participation.  Don't miss out on this comedic adventure!

POPCORN AND A MOVIE

All summer reading participants are invited to celebrate an exciting summer of reading and creativity by watching a movie on the big screen and munching on some delicious popcorn! 


Story Hour is designed for children ages 3-5 and features exciting stories, songs, fingerplays, crafts and games.  A great way to promote pre-reading skills, listening skills, an increased attention span, excitement about reading and a love of the library!


                          Tuesdays or Thursdays 10:00 - 11:00 A.M.

                                      June 16 - August 6, 2009
                                                                        
                                 Pre-registration is not required.

    Each week the Tuesday and Thursday sessions are the same program. 
                              Please choose one day to attend.


This program is designed for walking toddlers ages 18-36 months and caregivers.  It features interactive stories, songs, fingerplays and circle games appropriate for our littlest library users.  It's never too early to begin nurturing the joy of reading!  Each session concludes with play and socialization time.

Fridays 10:00 -10:45 a.m.

June 19 - August 7, 2009
